Is there a way to tell

Is there a way to tell what brand of exhaust is on your previously owned vehicle? I bought a 2003 SLT 4.7L and it has glasspacks on it. Are there stamp marks or something I can look for to identify it? Curiosity has me thinking about it and Google fu way too much.

They may be stamped with the part number on the barrel or there might be a part number on either end flange.

There are a few companies that make them, although the most popular brands of glass packs are Magnaflow, Cherry bomb, Flowtech, etc. Are they red in color?

There are some generic glasspacks that really don't have any identifying markings. A local exhaust guy I use carries them. I think he said his are "Gator" brand?? (a no-name more or less.) Don't be surprised if you don't find any markings. It doesn't necessarily make them any lesser of a glasspack, as glasspacks are a simple design anyway. ...it's like using a Dollar-General house-brand plastic cup instead of a "Dixie" cup... holds the brew just the same :)

I know, bad analogy! :)

Red if you call rusty colored red, lol. I'll take some pics of it later and let you guys take a look.
