Totally Confused on Headers

Okay. So i've been looking at headers for my 96 Ram 1500 and i am freaking confused.

So lets start with the basics.

-What are the advantage of long tube and short tubes?
-How the crap am I going get around an 02 sensor?
-What is a cheap company for good headers? I've seen $190 Summit Racing headers. Are they any good or should I spend a little more and get something better?
-Is it fairly easy to install headers on my truck? I hear some are easier than others?
-Is the power gain worth the hassel?

Oh.... and my dad wants to know if BlackJack headers are still around. Appearently they were good cheap headers back in the 70's. Dynomax has a BlackJack model of headers, but i don't know if that's even related.

Thanks.

Long tube headers are better for making torque than shorties and that's what you need in a truck.

You aren't going to get around using an upstream sensor. Install a bung in the pipe somewhere before the cat.

Installation depends a lot on the brand. Cheap headers tend to be harder to install.

You don't want cheap headers. They don't fit as well and won't last as long. Summit branded products tend to be decent quality at a fair price.

Headers are one of the biggest bang for the buck mods you can do and they work well with a CAI and tuner.

As I understand, Dynomax has taken over the Blackjack name and are still good headers but I can't say this from personal experience.
