Wax on Wax off??

I washed my New Blue 2011 Ram 1500 today and did not dry the top of the truck with a towel, the sun dried it before I could get to it. Anyhow it had those pesky water stains, which I got lazy about. I figured I could wax it and when I wiped it, the water stains would come off. WRONG, the water stains now have a nice protective wax over them, which Meguires Detail Spray wouldn't budge.

My question is will it the wax eventually dry up/out exposing the stains or do I need to "Wax off"? If I do need to wax off, what is a good one to use?

I'd get the wax off, use a clay bar to lift the stuff out of the clearcoat, then put a good coat of wax back on.

Then, always remember to dry the horizontal surfaces first. :D

Using a clay bar is an excellent idea to prepare a surface for wax. Even your new truck will probably need to be clay barred. To simply remove wax from your truck you can wash it with "Dawn" dish soap. It will strip all the wax off.

I'm betting those water spots were in the clearcoat before you washed or waxed and you are just noticing them. If they had just formed the wax should have removed them. They only way to get rid of them is a good polish.
