Can anyone tell me what these are?!

I was driving home today on I-85 just west of Charlotte and I came up behind this, modded Cavalier. After I took the first pic, he took off and I was playing hell with the late afternoon traffic, watching for the Men in Blue and trying to drive 80+ while snapping a picture.

Anyway, just WHAT THE #@%* are those things on his trunk?! There are cables (audio/visual?!) going into the trunk. They sort of appreared to be cameras but I couldn't get beside it long enough to get a good pic and flag him down to ask. Shortly afterward, he peeled off onto I-485 and I wasn't going to follow. Anyone know what these are?!?!

Maybe, but the one I saw had decals on the vehicle and a roof rack with about 6 cameras on it.

Almost look like Radar or Lidar guns.

Not sure but I've driven that route many times.

after reading Lazers
back in about 2002, they put a couple of devices on my VACTOR 10 wheel truck & on a Transport, ( truck & trailer ), the sensors went off when we were driving by guard rail, bridge supports, etc. if we were getting real close to an object with the side of our vehicles, the damn thing made a loud buzzer go off, i hated the damn thing

Maybe they're speakers to keep people from hitting his POS Cavalier. I dunno.
