front hub assembly
hello all i am new to this site so i am hoping someone can tell me the best way to remove the front hub assembly on my 1 ton 4x4 dodge u joint r bad.
A heavy duty hub puller, a BFH, and some blood, sweat, tears and swearing.
Big hammer, pb plaster, and lots of flathead screwdrivers.
The one ton (95 if that's the one you're working on, this is the 1st gen section) should be held in with 4 bolts:
Remove the cotter pin and axle nut (1 1/6 nut I think or like 34mm)
Jack the truck up and take off the tire and caliper.
Remove the 4 bolts from the back of the hub and bearing.
Sometimes the bearing comes out with a few taps, sometimes it cost your first-born son.
After you get the bearing out the axle'l slide right out.
