mileage conversion
I wasn't sure which secton to put this in, but seeing as it's off topic of Ram, I thought here, though I suppose it could've gone to "other vehcile"....

Here's my question...

On my PT Cruiser that I'm getting, the odometer reads around 80600, but the EVIC (due to a lack of a better term,as it doesn't really have one, just temp, distance to empty, and fuel economy, etc) reads metric. Could the metric reading on the EVIC cause the odometer to be reading metric as well? If so then I think I may have gotten a better deal than I thought....80600KM equals about 50000 miles.... that's 30K less than I thought it had on it

You can't hit your trip button and it will convert back to standard? I've seen that before but yeah, if that's the case, you did good with that one!

I don't know if it will or not Dana. I'l have to play with it when I pick up the car. I tried playing with it a bit while driving it the other day, but it might not be possible to change while in motion.

I was hoping someone would know if the odometer changed too, along with the so called EVIC. I know on my Ram if I change over to metric units, my odometer will also change... 80K wasnn't bad, but 50K is even better LOL

If you have the manual, see page 227 for information on user preferences of the EVIC display. The part about US/Metric is on Page 234.

I looked at the pix of your PT, and it has a US speedo, so the odometer 'is' in miles.

If you don't have the manual, download it here
