Finally did it......
Been putting this off for................hell since I bought the truck. It had scratches all along the bed rails where the PO obviously drug something across, and various other scratches and chips. Finally had enough of looking at the chips on the door edges and where I opened up the drivers door against a cinder block.

So I went to Oreillys and bought a bottle of paint matched touch up paint and got to work. All I could say was OMG!!!. The closer I looked (which was scary enough) the more I found. I thought I was going to have to buy another bottle. After an hour, (no I didnt have to buy another bottle, but I really did think this at the time), from a few feet away you cant even tell. I can because I know what i fixed but all in all it looks 1000 better. A graphite touch up is harder to see then light gray primer.

Just my thoughts/ vents for the day.

Nice job BD! Got any before and after picts?

bigdaddyII 04-04-2011 04:48 PM

I didnt think to take any. All the pics of the truck I have the damage doesnt show. I will look in the old pics of when I just bought the truck and see if one might show.

Nice work, BD. I've done this to other vehicles and it is amazing how much better it looks. It is a tedious task, though.

Okay, i found 2 pics where you could kind of see most of the damage. It is on the bed rail closest to the cab, and 3 dents what look like it was shot with a 22 towards the middle of the bed:

I dont know how they will turn out in this post but I had to make them bigger to see the damage. Here a shot of one of the angles fixed, and a close up:

Nice! I've been thinking about getting some touch up paint.

Nice fix up job. I've given out too many points for today but will be back to hit you up for the photos:smileup:

Nice work on that and I agree, touch up paint is the greatest, I always keep some and a tube of clear at the house for all those darn rocks I seem to hit.
