Temp guage works when it wants too?
My guage works when it wants to... I dont have overheating problems, it will just be working one second and then I look down and its sitting just above the needle rest but not on it... ?
I was about to swap out to a 180 therm, and figured I might as well deal with this too...
Any insight? Thanks!
Also, the previous owner ran a seperate oil pressure guage for towing so he could see the increments in numeric value, but I would rather have the dash one working... what do I need to swap it back? Sorry my manual hasnt gotten here yet but I dont feel like waiting just to get started.
For the temperature gauge, I would look at the sensor (should be right beside the thermostat, or close to it), and the wiring from it. Sounds like either a bad thermostat, or one of the wires is torn up.
Not sure on the oil pressure gauge, hopefully someone else can give you some insight to that.
Thanks, figured it might just be the sensor but sometimes theres something in there funny that is just a manufacturer issue... didnt want someone coming on here saying " dodge was famous for having a bad mechanism in the guage in the dash" hehe... on my 03 cummins I went through 3 headlight control modules, so now I just ask other guys to see if its common.
