First Road Trip MPG's

Took our first road trip in the truck this week. Here is the MPG report:

On the way, we go 16 mpg - doing 70 most of the way into a SERIOUS head wind.

On the way back, we go 18 - doing 70 most of the way with slight winds.

Not too bad in my mind. Also, the truck got us out of at least 2 situations were performance was key - one with rapid braking and swerve the other with rapid acceleration.

Overall, I am very pleased with the performance on the road. Very comfortable and of course, very capable...

Finally tested my milage on a trip without towing..19.6 mpg
8.6 mpg towing 7,700lbs.

I get 18-22mpg (back and fourth to work)
Sometimes I squeeze out 23-24 (speed limit, no rush)
Sometimes its 15-17 (woods, fishing putting around)

Nice info. What mods, if any, do you have bgerard?

That's right on par with my last road trip as well, weather conditions and all.

That is good mileage, I'd be impressed with that myself!

I posted this response in the 2011 section yesterday:
Just got back from a day trip and started the trip on 89 octane and the EVIC showed 18 mpg, averaged 70 mph and went from 600 ft above sea level to 4000 ft above sea level and back. By the end of the trip had the EVIC calculating 19.5 mpg. The climb up dropped the mpg to 16.3 mpg and the manual calculation at the end of the trip showed actual 20.4 mpg. Not bad considering the trip up was against a 40 mph head wind, well I also had that as a tail wind going home.
