yes u need it i have a 2inch lift and didnt change them needless to say there toast. same thing happened on my dads 2010 2500 6.7, he didnt change the shock and they also are done. the problem is that your stock shock is going to be constantly being over extended and it prematurely fails. you could also get something i believe is called as shock extender but im not sure. basically itsa bracket that mounts to the top of your shock and to the point where it mounts giving you a new lower mounting point.

Need help

Hey I have a question for everyone. I have a 2008 1500 2wd 5.7L. I got 3" Lift Spindles, 1.5" daystar coil spacers, Bilstein front shocks that are 2" longer than stock. I have 17x9 MT wheels with 4.5" backspacing -12 offset and 315/70/17 Goodyear Duratracs which come to about 34.5" Tires. Do you think I should have enough room or will I run into any issues? Not really trying to add a body lift but maybe a 3" PA Body Lift would help with everything too even though I'm trying to stay away from that. Also thought about maybe gettin 2" Rear Lift Shackles also? Any help would be great. Thanks

Yes, you will need a little more lift to fit those tires. I have 33x12.5x17s on my truck with a 4" spindle lift, 1" rear blocks, and Rancho 9000s front and rear. I check the flex this weekend and the rear tire fit perfectly into the wheel well. Any larger and I would have had a good amount of rub. Same up front. I have pic's also if you would like to see how they fit in the well.
