I just took my new truck on its first long trip 236miles one way with a 3k feet elevation change from 3000ft to 6000ft.The truck was empty with just me and some gear for camping. It got 19.6mpg at 74mph going up and 22.4mpg at 74mph coming back home.I didnt think it would get that much as the elevation change killed my old truck it only got 16mpg 70mph going up and 18mpg at 70mph coing back.
I cant wait to see how it does with the bike trailer now.Old truck got 8.8mpg pulling the trailer up there. The trailer is about 1300lbs
I think I made a good upgrade from a 4.6l to a 5.7l truck
Wonderful, I've seen real world miles like that coming down hill too. I love the Hemi and it's power.
That's impressive mpg results. Is your truck 2WD or 4WD? If you are 4WD, it is even more impressive.
