Update for shifting issues done......

at the dealer when the K-36 recall was done today.Had the shudder when running in drive at lower speed city driving and also when slowing down for a light I had the harsh downshift into 4th.They did an update for shifting issues listed and my R/T drives and shifts like it should now........Just a heads-up if you have these shifting issues.......JB.

Was the shift update for the R/T only Or other RAM models?

I am assuming it is for all newer Rams with this issue.May be a good idea to call your dealer with your V.I.N and have them run it.Mine said not all updates show up on the Dodge Owners page.........JB.

Did they give it any sort of name or code for the shift update? This probaly won't be a recall...just done for those that complain about the down shifting...

All I see on the invoice is TSB#18-023-11. 4275086AD Label......Pay 0.20. I went in for the K-36 recall and they informed me of the shifting update......JB.

my truck did some crazy shifting today. it seemed like it took to long to shift out of second. also, when i manually shift for second to third my rpms only drop about 300 rpms. it that normal?

The update was for the trans throwing codes also.......JB.

Label under the hood said "Reprogrammed PCM/TCM .............and it took care of the issues I was having......JB.

So now when your coasting and your speed drops below 45mph, the truck doesn't down shifting/RPM's increase?

6t6gto 05-24-2011 05:48 PM

Nope.......almost acts like it reset the shift points or electronics changed the pressure points.....JB.
