Front Drive Shaft in back of bed
I recently purchased a 1995 Ram 1500 4X4 extended cab with an automatic tranny. The guy a bought it from said the 4 Wheel drive worked but it needed a new front drive shaft. He purchased a used drive shaft from a junk yard and included it in the bed of the truck when I purchased it.
After tracking down the hardware from several parts stores I went home and tried to bolt it up. Unfortunately, the shaft is about 1-1/2 inches too short when fully extended. I am guessing this shaft came from the wrong year truck, or a short wheel base truck.
My question is, How long is the drive shaft in the extended cab supposed to be? Everything looks stock under the truck. I may have jumped the gun, as I ordered a used front drive shaft off Ebay from the same truck as mine, but a 1994 model.
Any input would be appreciated..
Hi, I don't have an answer so, it's time to .........:icon_bump:........... this back to the top!
The one I got on Ebay Fit.
This drive shaft measured as follows: 37” end to end; 19 ¾” weld to weld.
