welcome to the Z!

tell us a little more about your truck..4wd vs 2wd, what gears do you have, do you have a budget, what are your goals, are you worried about warranty.

if you have the 3.21s or 3.55s I would def upgrade the gears to a 4.10 or 4.56. if you have the 3.92s I would prob leave them alone but 4.56s would still be an option.

you could do a cam, heads, magnuson supercharger

a cheap mod in the mean time is to swap out your 203 degree t-stat for a 180 degree.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. It is 4wd but i am not sure what the gears are. I do have a bit of a budget. The truck is all black with 2" wheel spacers and color matching hard toneau cover with the 20's. The truck is street only no off road. I am not sure how to find the info on the gears.

.. I concur ... also consider efan, tq vertor, Y pipe, ported tb...

there will be a sticker on your rear axle tube tellng you what gears you have. see link: http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/u...Axlelabels.jpg

you can also find it on your window sticker too if you boght new.

gears would be kinda expensive b/c you are 4wd but would be the most bang for your buck depending on what ratio you currently have.

fred also has some good more budget friendly ideas: throttle body, remove your belt driven fan (you have to install the 180 t-stat with this and use your programmer to change your efan on/off settings)

So are you saying that you can remove your belt driven fan and completely rely on your elictric fan? OR are you saying to add an additional electric fan and remove the belt driven fan?

Also, do you have to change your settings for the fan if you put a 180 degree t-stat?

Thanks,

On the 4th gens yes. I am only running the stock efan with a 180 t-stat. I think the 3rd gen folks have been adding an additional efan (Lincoln MKVIII, Ford Taurus, Black Magic, etc).

I changed my fan settings to 186 (low) and 196 (high) with my DSP. The efan runs constantly anytime the AC is running.
