Is there a manual trans available a 5.9?

Being the sucker for trouble that I am, I would like to swap my auto for a manual. Did dodge put one on our trucks back in the day?

I've seen them, not in the 2nd gens, but I have seen a couple of 3rd gen 5.9's with a 5 speed. They fairly rare from what I've seen. A tranny swap would definitely be some work.

yes there is 5.9's with the manual tranny. but ive only seen a few. they put them in the 5.9 gas dually. and they put them in some 5.9 dakotas r/t im sure theres more but ive only seen a couple like i listed

the problem w/ swapping an electric shift tranny is all teh bypass on the sensors you have to do it would be a huge pain i have heard of an electric clutch pedals that send the PCU teh codes when u shift to mock it but they havent been real popular. but i wish my 5.9 had a 5 speed in it

I have a manual in my 2nd gen, a NV3500 w/ granny gear.

I know this is an ancient thread, but, anyone know what has to be done to make the swap?

you may want to stop by the road that leads to the Spring Valley Swap Meet, the part that goes between the 125 & swap meet
in the lowest part of the dip, you will see a RR Xing sign
very near that sign is a Chrysler products only wrecking yard
the guy that runs the place is a wealth of information
go in with a good attitude & be ready to listen, he loves to talk :)
some times he has a Green Dodge Ram parked out front

it is on Quarry Rd, Spring Valley, CA, the nearest cross street is Elkelton Place
this may be out dated information
6301 Quarry Rd Spring Valley, CA 91977
(619) 475-1005

type this into Google Maps, you will see the Ram sitting in front
6301 Quarry Rd, Spring Valley, CA 91977

of course we also have about 30 wrecking yards down by the border, a guy could get lost in those for days :)
to me it is better then amusement parks
they are on Otay Valley Rd , Datsun St & Heritage Rd & if you follow the road it meets up with Main Street & just off of that is Nirvana Ave, follow it up to several more wrecking yards :) that are located on Energy Way
it is best to speak Mexican Border slang with them, so if you have a friend that does, take them with you

Thanks, I'll check it out this week, I need a new cup holder anyway, broke mine...

As for the spangalese, I am that guy. Grew up here, and the wife is Hispanic...

I also found this;

http://www.smartpartsauto.com/manual...500_dodge.html

and that "all" I need is a 5.2 flywheel, clutch, master/slave/hose kit, and a way to make the computer think it's in neutral...

Or I just pony up the $$ to do a performance rebuild on the 46RE and deal with an auto...
