180 thermostat and intake

Im having trouble finding a 180 thermostat for my 2004 5.7, and I dont really want to have to buy a jet one for 40$. Anyone know of a good cheaper one? Like the autozone one for later model trucks.

And also, im going to modify my oem intake box and cut a hole in the bottom of it and run pipe to somewhere. Ive looked at other threads of this but wasnt exactly sure on what to do with it. Whats the best material to make it with, best size, placement?

And whenever i do this ill post pics of what I did with the intake and tell how it runs. And ill tell how the 180 thermostat runs also.

Thanks for the help guys

I ran ducting from the foglight hole up towards the snorkel...also drilled a few 1" dia holes in the bottom of the filter box to allow more air in... and removed the hemi hat and did 4" pvc in it's place..

I tried all over to find a 180 t stat at my local auto parts stores but to no avail. The general price range online is $35 - $45. I don't know if there is any other way to get a 180 t stat, might just have to bite the bullet.

I was thinking about running it to my fog light hole, but what about when it rains? Will water not go up into it?

they don't know..they don't make a specific one for our trucks so you can't ask for it by year or brand (of truck)... just ask for autozone (duralast)4128..this is an exact fit..
