My 2011 RT Build

Okay guys, I have enjoyed reading information posted in this forum and quickly realized there is a lot going on with several builds, mods and so on. I have posted on threads and started a few myself but thought I would compile all my info under on thread.

So far I have this to share and some information is repeated:

Bought a 2011 Red RT / Love the truck, think Dodge still has some work to do with small issues...

Tinted the windows 15% LLumar ATC before signing the papers.

Experienced a drive line vibration at 35-45 mph
Took in for review / Dealer agreed
Took back for computer flash / No fix
Took back for review / Parts ordered / Converter
Scheduled to be fixed on Wednesday 6/29

Ordered the Belltech 3-4 drop kit with Street Performance shocks
Kit was delivered with wrong front bump stops (do not use the small red stops)
Contacted Belltech and all they required a copy of the purchase order from Summit.
Emailed a copy to Tom Edge at Belltech on Friday 6/17.
Called Friday afternoon to confirm e-mail, no answer from Tom.
Called Monday to confirm e-mail, Tom was at lunch but was told the parts would be shipped out that afternoon.
Received e-mail from Tom on Wednesday 6/22, he could not read my shipping address to ship the parts, kidding right... No!
Confirmed shipping and expressed concern that I called on Friday 6/17 and it is now 6/22 and no parts have been shipped. Tom sent reply stating that they were shipped Fed-ex 2 day, Friday delivery, No parts on Friday... Very poor sevice. Sorry Tom but that's how it goes. I kinda felt like I had to work for them to make a package mistake right.
Springs and shocks look great and are waxed, ready to be installed.

While waiting on the bump stops I decided to debadge the RAM 1500 on the doors. I have been in the custom business, hobby for 25 years and have read some post on here with regard to debadging. I used my usual technique of heat gun and plastic body filler spreader. Then finished with the eraser wheel. Took a total of about 40 minutes for both sides including a quick wax job. You can do this while waiting on the wife to get ready for dinner, LOL.

I can only hope at this point the bump stops are here tomorrow.

Do you plan on removing/selling the rocker bars? Not that I want them but they just don't fit the R/T Sport theme.

Nice looking truck! I love the regular cab, but with kids, had to go with the crew... Can't wait to see it lowered. And I agree that the step bars will need to go.

This is the way to do it...all in one threads!!!

the truck looks really good, but i agree get rid of the nerf bars its a sport truck not a 4x4. just got my belltech 2/4 drop a few days ago with right bump stops :gy:. Since i work at an offroad shop and we have extra time an parts laying around i swaped out the rear springs with a set of front JK springs which fit perfectly and drop the rear like 3 inches for now. ill be putting in the belltech kit this week, and lets see how it sits. hopefuly low enough, if not im going with drop spindles for another 2 inches in the front....!

Here is an interesting fact i found out about the RAM R/T..... the damn truck sits higher than a 4X4 out of the factory. i measured them side by side. why the hell would dodge build a "sport truck" that sits higher than any other truck in its line?????:4-dontknow:

if your looking for a good exhaust system i just put in a Corsa system in mine its a little pricey but its sounds awesome. not too loud at idle but roars sweet when you open it up.

What was the part number if you don't mind? I was trying to get a Corsa for my 2011 for months and Corsa told me they didn't make one for the Standard Cab (R/T).

I have the 18" Mufflex (Magnaflow) which is nice but would have preferred the Corsa. I have headers coming in a few weeks.
