A/C Problems

I have a 2004 ram 1500 w/ the 5.7 hemi & 56k miles. The a/c has always been weak but now is getting worse.
It takes 2-5 miles to blow cold, will only blow warm when cruising at or over about 70 mph & blows warm under even moderate acceleration.
The freon pressures check out & I've already replaced 3 of the blend doors w/ aftermarket. All the dealer did was to check temps when parked in the shade & running @ 2000 rpm.
Other than the a/c I really like the truck but it's 110 here today & the a/c just isn't cutting it. Any help greatly appreciated.
thanks, Jerry.

Is your a/c coil fan working? It's located right in front of the coil.

Yes it is. Everything seems to work except that the compressor apparently shuts down.

Does low side pressure drop off when its running, if the compressor shuts off, its usually low on charge or you have a wiring issue, is there any dtc's. Pressures can still look okay, however the system can be low.

I don't know if the low side drops. When I checked the pressure a while back it seemed good but I didn't check it long enough for that. How can I check the wiring? Are there sensors that can be checked? Thanks.

The problem seems to have been dirty contacts on the sending unit on the refrig line. I took off the wires & blasted both sides of the contacts w/ electrical cleaner, let them dry & reinstalled. A/c now works better than it ever has. What a waste of 7+ years putting up w/ substandard a/c over dirty contacts.
