Noisy Towing

I wanted to know if any of you have had the same problem when towing. I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 CC 4x2, hemi, 3.92 rear end and cold air breather. When I am towing my travel trailer (approx. 7600 lbs) the engine noise is very loud in the cab. Could this be caused from the breather? It is worse at about 2500 rpms in 4th gear going almost 65 mph. I am using the tow/haul mode and it rarely shifts into fifth gear. The noise goes down when I reach 3000 rpms in 4th gear running about 70 mph. Love the truck accept when towing. Any thoughts???

Could it be your cooling fan coming on and off. I just towed for the first time with my 2011 , no CAI but the louder engine noise would come and go as as I climbed grades and it was about 90 plus degree's out. My load was about the same as yours.

Cold air breather as in an intake? If so thats why its so noisy, yea they help power and suck in a lot more air but the trade off is they are pretty noisy, many people buy them just for that sound alone lol
