Where is vacuum tank for a/c doors?
Dash A/C doors close under acceleration. Must have a bad connection or check valve for vac tank.

Where is vac tank is it under dash?

Mine is located under the drivers side of the dash behind the ABS control box just to the right of the gas pedal and up. Silver barrel looking thing with an accutator hooked to the flap. My plastic connector broke so i need to figure a way to fix that. But thats where it is at........

Here it is,I assume this is what you are looking for?, I need the plastic thing the accutator goes to if anyone knows the part number/name and where to get one?

Thanks but, that is vacuum actuator for doors not vac storage tank and check valve which keep it open (retracted) so when under engine acceleration when engine vac falls off and that spring loaded actuator will not slam a/c air flow doors shut.

Maybe there isn't a vac tank and just check valve in vac line near firewall is bad?

Replaced Check Valve by buying Hose and Valve assembly
Had to just spend 15.93 to get the check valve by buying new 55055705AB vac hose and valve assembly.

BUT now the a/c doors in dash stay open under heavier engine accelerations.

Cheap fix!

Dealer says this is for Cruise control, does it control both? Also was it located in the engine compartment?

I would like to know the answer to those questions as well. Thanks

I have this same problem, what was the fix? can you post pictures of the location?

Alfisto Steve 09-16-2011 04:52 AM

OK, guys sorry for not reading your questions sooner. As for check valve and hose assembly I listed part number above. It is hanging off front of firewall just to right of centerline over right head area.

Tubing may also go to cruise control and check valve may help crusie control actuator maintain vac under engine accel but it also hold vac on dash vents.

found this...

there are two check valves
