Door Rust
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram Sport that is starting to rust on the bottom of the doors and needs some patching up. Did anyone paint or rhino line theirs and have any pics or advice. It is not that much rust that I need to replace the door and I may be able to sand and paint if I can find Duplicolor paint to match it. Any suggestions at all will help.

Thanks in advance

What I'd do is make sure that, after you have done some sanding but prior to priming, is that the rust won't spread. So get a spray or brush on rust inhibitor and apply that first.

There are sites that have matching paint in rattle cans that are of good quality. All you need is your truck's paint code.

This is some great stuff that I have seen used on old jeeps to stop the rust from spreading, like MADDOG was suggesting.

POR-15 is amazing stuff! In my car, before I got the truck, I had a leak and my whole was soaked and when I ripped the carpets out I noticed rust, I was apart of a different forum and they suggested POR-15, so I used that on my whole floor, let it dry properly, and the stuff is amazing, prevents rust so good, never had a issue after.

i've seen that on a number of that gen Ram. any word of the cause? usually there are plastic plugs at the bottom of the door and if you don't pull them out water collects. i was checking the other day and didn't notice any plugs, unless i missed them. does anyone know if there's a drain at the bottom of the door? thanks.

found a small opening along the bottom on the side with the door handle. you'll need to have the vehicle on a slight incline upwards to fully drain. the opening is enough to get a straw from a rattle-can inside and spray some protection in there.
