Whats the best Tuner for a 4.7

Looking to see just who makes THE best tuner/ chip for a 2003 4.7...

It's unfortunate that Diablosport doesn't list a Predator version for your year truck with the 4.7L.

I would guess that SuperChips or Hypertech may have one.

B&G Performance does custom tunes for your stock PCM if you want to check them out.

I have the Superchips so it is all I can attest to. Superchips claims roughly 20 rear wheel HP and TQ on our trucks. I believe it probably is there....only thing is it doesn't come around until about 4400 RPM. How often does your truck see 4400 RPM? Mine doesn't very often. That being said, I am most pleased with the Superchips because of the improved transmission functions. Only catch there is that I don't think the tune for your model year alters the transmission parameters. I think only 2005-up trucks get the tranny tuning. I do not know that for certain and you should verify it yourself before discounting the Superchips.

I've noticed on most talk of tuner chips for Rams, most people seem to appreciate the trans control they gain. My question is, is this a mod worth looking into being that my truck is a 5-speed? What are other benefits of these chips?

Personally I would not recommend a tuner for the first gen 4.7 with manual trans. The auto trans improvement is the only reason I kept mine. Like I said above, I believe the claimed power is there but it comes at such a high RPM that it isn't noticeable in everyday driving. If you are drag racing your truck I might consider it but otherwise I wouldn't. The only other benefit is possibly slightly improved fuel economy. I am running the 91 octane performance tune and have seen about 1 mpg increase but I'm also having to run 93 octane fuel because 91 isn't readily available here so.....that's my two cents.
