Pathetic hemi

Thats all i can really say about my truck. I pulled up to the stop light next to a ford edge. Thought id jump the light and get in front of it. Wrong. My piece of shit truck couldnt even beat a edge. Even with the 91 DSP tune and intake. Thats just sad. Even with the tune it still dont seem much better than stock. I may just return the tuner since i have 30 days to do so. Kind of disapointing it dont do much. Maybe time to change vehicle brands if the hi is that pathetic. And im die- hard mopar fan but the truck is shit ass slow. There im done venting.

alrighty then....

Your going to have to remember these are 5k+ pound vehicles, not sports cars. They do well for what they are but there are certain model ford edges with over 300hp and weigh atleast 1000 pounds less then your truck... Do the math, they can give a fairly stock 345hp hemi a good run considering the weight advantage and they have less drive train loss being fwd based.

I see your mod list shows intake and tuner, but I don't see exhaust. I am not aware of any 3rd gen trucks coming factory with an exhaust that would support any tuner benefits, so this is most likely the biggest issue holding your Hemi back.

The only way an Edge can get the edge on me, is if I have 7000lbs of trailer on my hitch, and even then, it's iffy. :D

Ya i know. I was just pissed that i got tore up pretty good. I have the exhaust in my garage just have to get it installed. Plus im ordering a new y-pipe for it. Dont worrt im keeping my dodge but dam. Is the 93 tune much better than the 91?

brad12kx 07-17-2011 03:16 PM

The 93 is better.......but don't waste your time with trying it until you have the Ram breathing right.

Ya i just got back from trying the 93 tune. Not much different than the 91. Im going to try and get my muffler swapped out next weekend along with the y-pipe. That should get things were they need to be.

You have to remember your truck is a high 16 second truck stock and probably high 15-low 16 second truck with your mods. An edge is a mid to low 15 second suv. A 2011 3500 laramie longhorn with the 650 lb ft torque cummins is almost as fast as your ram was off the showroom floor

High 16s??? My 03 Quad Cab ran 15.56 bone stock with 3.55 gears in 90 degree heat in Gulfport MS (ok, sea level but 900% humidity!) Granted the Ford Edge has a power-to-weight advantage, but let's not sell our beloved Hemi Rams short!!
