Thanks for the info. I'm going to try this on my 3rd gen and see if it works.
ty for this dude
Would this work on a 06' Ram 1500?
This is what I found on another forum (http://www.**************/forums/sho...ight=horn+honk). (I guess this will not show)
I haven't had time to test it yet, but my guess is that it should work.
The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be enabled
or disabled by your authorized dealer or by
following these steps:
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. The manufacturer does not recommend
deactivating the Enhanced Warning System
1. With all doors closed and the ignition switch in any
position except On or Start, buckle the driver’s seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait
for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the
ON position, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver’s
seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending
with the seat belt buckled.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. A
single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully
completed the programming.
The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reactivated
by repeating this procedure.
NOTE: Although the Enhanced Warning System
(BeltAlert) has been deactivated, the Seat Belt Warning
Light will continue to illuminate while the driver’s seat
belt remains unbuckled.
I'm still looking to disable the horn when locking the truck and get a blink on the lights instead. Up to now I only found a way to disable both, the locking and unlocking signals.
Reducing the horn sound to a small chirp would be ok too, but not the original sound.
i just tried this on my 2006 ram and it worked on the first try. drove around with it unbuckled and there was no chime. i wear my seatbelt anyway but i unbuckle when im parking or pulling up to an atm so its nice not to hear anything. when it comes on i get scared it might be the check engine light or something
freaking sweet! i have an 08 1500 and did it before work today, and BAM no annoying chime! thanks bro reps coming your way!
I have a 2011 1500, and it worked. Did it yesterday.
I did this on my 05, but I buckled and unbuckled 5 times, but not as quick as you did it and it worked.
