Backup Camera for RHB radio

Anyone know if the backup camera kit (82211184) will work with my 430N (RHB) radio? The kit I'm looking at on eBay says it fits (REN-RBZ-RHR) radios.

Hi, I don't have an answer so, it's time to .........:icon_bump:........... this back to the top!

That is the part number I installed on my 2011 Ram, it worked with my old RBZ and the new RHR.

I think they are all the same, almost positive so I would say yes.

Ram 1500 backup camera with RHB radio

New to the forum and just wanted to say thanks for giving me the idea to install a backup camera into my Ram 1500. Initially purchased the truck in July (2011) off the lot with everything I wanted except the backup camera.

Was initially told by the dealer that there was no way to add the stock Parkview camera to my truck. Then I saw the part no. 82211184 that everyone was referring to. I ran this part no. by my dealer and he said it would not work with my 430N RHB coded radio. After talking to Ram customer support (by phone) and having the dealer double check with the technical reps at Dodge, they all came to conclusion that the part would work with my radio.

Anyway, will take my truck down first thing in the morning (19 Oct) to have the kit installed. Will let you know how things work out. Price was $318 for the kit and approx $175 (quoted) for labor. A little higher than the internet price but installed by a certified dealer will keep my warranty intact.

Just FYI when the dealer reprograms the truck to recognize the camera it is automatically added to your warranty no matter who installs it.

I just picked up my RAM 2500 yesterday. Has the 430 RBZ Media Center and Park assist. It was my understanding that when I turn the Park Assist with display on, that I should see the camera view on my 430 RBZ screen. But I don't - I only see a small display on the EVIC. Shouldn't it show on the 430 screen?

It should only come on when the vehicle is in reverse and you have it set to do so.

I got my Ram back from the dealer. They kept it an extra day because they said the instructions were wrong on the location for the backup light wire. I find that hard to believe, however, the system works fine.
So if you have a 430 radio and want a backup camera go for it. The system will work regardless of what the instructions say about only for REN or RER radios.

According to my local dealership parts department and after a few phone calls, I found out that yes the 2012 430N RHB will support Dodge OEM part #82211184 back up camera.

I will order this OEM item through the dealership and also have them do the installation. The dealership will be responsible for any problems concerning the installation of the camera or wiring. I hope this helps.
