2011 Ram 1500 SLT Stock Wheels/Tires

Hey all, first time here.

I'm looking for some helpful info/suggestions on the truck I just bought(have yet to pick it up). I'm planning on making some early cheap changes to it immediately.

One of the first things I want to do is change the rims, and probably the tires.

I'm not sure of the size though, I looked around a little and think I found what's on there now. 20" x 9". I'm wondering if that's right or not.

Also I might try to find some nice 22" rims and get a little smaller tire.

Can anyone tell me what type of dimensions I need to be looking for? I'm really not a mechanical person. I'm more a computer geek :p

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not always, but i thought stock slt wheels were 17x7's and 265-70-17 goodyears for 2011. Mine were anyways. Depends on the options your truck came with. It will say on your window sticker what size rims you have. Btw, it depends on what your doin with the truck. ie.(4x4 or 2wd) but 20 and 22inch tires can get reeeeeally spendy. So shop around alot. Enjoy your new truck!

SLT models come with 20x9 stock as well as 17x7 depending upon the options. I had the painted 20x9 wheels.

As far as dimensions, it depends on what size wheel you want? 20x9 would be a good replacement, I swapped for 18x9. 20x10 is getting wide and you can possibly run into clearance issues depending upon the offset and tire.

I'm hoping to find something 22x9-9.5, wheel size.

Tires I have really no idea how the sizing works etc. I want something lower profile, not ridiculously small but smaller than the stock ones, and the flat looking performance type.

It took me a while to find out about the bolt pattern. Apparently I need 5x5.5(139.7). Which seem pretty hard to find a decent price for. Is that bolt pattern the only one that will fit, or will say a 6x139.7 work?

No, 5x5.5 is the only thing that will fit.

Find a tire size calculator for conversions. Stock 20x9 house a 33" tall tire and 10.61" width I believe. I have a +18 offset (+19 is stock) and clear 11.75" wide tires. If you go with a closer to even offset, or even a -6 or -12 offset you can clear close to 12.5" wide tires. Height, low profile Id assume you arent going higher than around 33"-34" so thatll be fine.

I put some 22x9.5 on my 2011, 305/45/22. Looks pretty good. Mamaba series 4 i think.
