MaineMud 2001 Dodge Ram (new to me)... in progress
This is my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 that I just bought. It has a skyjacker lift on the front and rear that I know nothing about. I think the front needs bushings or something. It is making allot of noise over bumps???? The steering has play in it and I have to fight to keep it on the right side of the road! I dont know anything about front ends. So this forum is going to be great for me.
Welcome to the forum!
Poor steering may indicate excessive play in your steering components, track bar, steering box, bushings, pitman arm, etc...With a lift these components are subjected to additional stresses and they will wear out faster than a stock height truck.
Shocks are also a contributor to a poor ride and steering control but the main culprits are the front end suspension and steering parts.
Very cool truck, thanks for sharing the pics! Looks like Michael has some good advice for you there.
Nice looking Ram, hope you get the problem figured out!
