0 to 60 in under 5 sec???

Hey fellas, Another member on the Facebook RAM R/T page claims to have a 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds, seems alittle fast to me. Mods are muffler, CAI, and Tuner. He posted a pic of the tuner display which showed a 4.8 0 to 60 and a 13.2 quarter mile. How accurate are those? My mom has a C5 Zo6 which does 60 in about 4 sec flat and it seems miles ahead then my R/T. Any info would be great, Thanks!!!!!

yeah that sure seems like BS with just those few mods. Stock 0-60 best time achieved by like car and driver or some other source like that was 5.7 seconds. I think they got a 1/4 mile time of low 14's. To get to low 13's would take alot of power and money.

:iagree: sounds a little fishy.

Did he mention what kind of tune he's got?

Time Slips or video of time at the track.......

The main problem taking readings from a tuner is any amount of tire spin will result in inacurate speed/distance readings.
Your Ram is not really moving as far or as fast as your tires are.

Tuner numbers arent much good unless you can back it up at the track...

those times could accurate. with those mods he should be able to drop a second off of his 0.60. 5.8 stock. 4.7 is a second quicker. I have not tuned my 2011 yet, no tuner avalable. but after tune with my intake and exhaust I expect at least a second off my 0.60. I gteched my truck stock with 500 miles on it and got a 7 seconds flat. I have also used my gtech at the track, atco, here in jersey and the gtech is almost dead on.

Going from 7 seconds to 6 seconds takes alot less power and money than going from 6 seconds to 5 seconds.....certainly not likely with the basic 3 mods...

wannab 08-14-2011 07:11 PM

basic mods should gain you atleast 1 to 01.5 second gain what ever the vehicle is. he is starting out at 5.8 second 0.60, so intake exhaust and a tune should put him at the numbers he is claiming. i have a quad cab 4 wheel drive. he has a RT.

snrusnak 08-14-2011 08:00 PM

there are other guys on this forum with RT's that have intake exhaust and aren't even close to that. They don't add THAT much power...
