Next Mods Are Done

Got my 1.25" Rough Country body lift installed over the weekend, and had a new set of tires and wheels installed Monday. I had a set of 35x12.50x20 ProComp Xtreme XT's on the truck but they needed balancing with every rotation! I like the look of more sidewall on a tire anyway so I went with a set of 35x12.50x17 Procomp AT's (had good luck with them on my Jeep) wrapped around a set of Dick Cepek 17x9 DC2's.

Here's a few pics...

Your truck looks great as usual. How was the install of the body lift? I'm going to be doing that here in the next month.

Honestly, a piece of cake. It takes time (I did the cab myself in about 4 hours, had help for the bed). Seems that a lot of people freak out over taking the nose of the truck off (you have to to get to the front cab mounts) but the instructions are very explicit. I didn't raise the rear bumper because I didn't want to deal with the frenched in tailpipes, and i don't really mind the gap. Plus, it lets me clean all the stuff I see but couldn't reach behind the corners of the bumper. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Probably the biggest negative about this kit (for me anyway) is that you lose your front tow hooks. RC made absolutely no provision for raising those with the bumper, and short of hacking a hole in your front bumper I don't see any way to modify them to make them fit.:smiledown::smiledown:

Funny thing is, 1 1/4" doesn't sound like a lot but it's really noticeable. Here's a few pics I took during the install:

Thank you! My girlfriend came outside at one point, sat down beside me amidst the pieces of my truck and said "And why are you doing this again?" Some women just don't get it... ;-)

That's good to know. I've taken off the front end before, minus removing the bumper itself and I've done the rear as well, it's a snap! Do you have pics of the gap on the rear? I might consider doing that as well.

There's one in the first post above.

Oh duh! Yeah I wasn't even paying attention to it. It's not bad at all.
