Problem with trailer brake controller on diesel 3500
This is my first post, my first Dodge, and my first at joining one of these forums. So, forgive me if I don't know my way around yet.
Problem is with a horse trailer, was a 6 straight pin, replaced with a 7 flat blade connecter. It was fine with my F-250 Super Duty, but would not work with the '11 Dodge I just bought. Talked to the mechanic @ the dealership, he sent me a diagram of the wiring for the truck. The wires were in different positions vs. my Ford. So, I moved the wires on the trailer end to match the truck. At first I thought the problem was solved, the integrated brake controller was working fine, then, it wasn't working and the trailer wheels locked up. I know I've seen others having problems like this. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to solve this problem? I would like to sell my Ford, but cant until I solve this issue.
I appreciate any information that might shed some light on this for me.
Welcome to the site; I don't have an answer so, it's time to .........:icon_bump:........... this back to the top! Drop by the Newbie Checkin and introduce yourself. Hope to see you around!
If your trailer brakes "Locked Up", then your controller is working. However it may not be working in the way your want it too. I have a LONG story about my Brake Controller problems, so if you went to send me a private e-mail with some more information on the controller performance I may be able to assist you.
