18x9 offset sweet spot for 305/60/18?

sorry for the duplicate posts.. posted in wrong section and got no response.

The people are West KY Customs are saying I can fit a 305/60/18 on my stock 4th gen 2wd on 18x9 rims with +0mm offset, but that the that tire will rub on a +12mm offset or -12mm offset. But I'm thnking there info was collected on 3rd gens and not 4th gens.

Anybody got info to support or contradict that?

Thanks.

Those are shorter than my stock 20" wheels/tires. I think they have their info wrong, the 0 offset would sit out a little bit from factory and the +12 would sit nearly stock looking inside the wheel well

Thinking shorter rims rub in different places, likely cause where the tire bubbles much lower.. possibly the A-arm. So what they are saying is (I think) -12mm is too far out and +12mm is too far in. In all 1 inch differnce between the two extremes. But somehow +0mm is acceptable?

Personally I do think on 305/60/18 that +12mm (on 18x9) is too far in, but suspect -12mm might be fine.

Related, On 20s (not 18s) A while back a Wheel place told me I could run 305/55/20s on 20x9 if I stayed between 0mm and -10mm offset .. any further in or out and i'd be looking at problems. Which makes sense considering guys with 305/55/20s on stock 20s (+18mm), have get a 1/4 spacers to not rub. The offset on our stock 20s and obstructions in the 2wd do really limit choices.

No issues with my rear 18x9 w/ +18mm offset
I do rub at full wheel lock with my front 17x9 w/ +18mm offset.
Front tires are 275/55/17 though.

you have two different size rims? 275/55/17 is a 29 inch high tire.

Most of our problems is that damn +18mm offset. So many more tire options if the rims had more negative offset.

Still waiting for somebody to do that 18x9 -12mm 305/60/18 combo and share expeirence before I do a $2000 experiment.
