evap canisters

i was layin under my truck lookin at exhaust routes, and was woundering if anyones eleminated the evap canisters thats under the cab on the passenger side? i dont like how they hang way down to get cought on shit. i know on the 80s and older cars you can eliminate em, but will it throw a code or run like shit if i take em out and plug all the ports?

well i took a closer look at the evap canisters under my truck, and theres only 2 lines goin to em, so i discontected em from the canister and connected em together. it still runs perfect, no difference and no check engine light

mr.lopar 09-04-2011 10:56 PM

so did mine lol. figured its one less thing to rot out, one less thing to get cought on shit, and shaves a few pounds off,,,as if it really matters lol

I don't know for sure, but if it's anything like the newer ones, It'll eventually throw a code and light the CEL. If not.... :woohoo:

My truck being 11 years old in my state can throw a code all it wants :), Though going to look more into this. I know the EVAP is more emissions based then anything

mr.lopar 09-05-2011 12:47 PM

my truck aint thrown a code without em

jmopar20 09-26-2011 05:33 PM
