09 va 11 trucks

I have a 09 quad cab with stage stage 1 CAI, diablo sport predator tuner, flowmaster 40 series. The other day I raced a 2011 dodge with flowmaster 10 series. I got him off the line, but after I got into second gear he flew past me. How is that possible?

what gears do you have and what gears does the '11 have? Is the '11 also a q/c?

Bluedodge0986 09-02-2011 07:58 PM

Whatever gears are stock. And what's q/c?

TORMENTOR 09-02-2011 09:27 PM

They come with 3 different ears ratios 3.21 3.55 or 3.92. Q/c is quad cab.

He probably had the 3.92

How do you find out what ratio you have?

You can look on your sticker if you still have it or go to dodges web site put in your vin and request a build sheet for your truck. this will tell you everything thats on your truck

3 gear ratios (listed above) and 3 cab styles. all make a difference in accleration.

r/c = regular cab
q/c = quad cab
c/c = crew cab

there is also a sticker on your rear axle tube that lists your gear ratio if you don't have your window sticker or build sheet.

Gotcha. Thanks for the help guys.

In addition to gearing and weight differences, and also tires (guys who put huge tires on don't often think about the real negative effect in performance), I think the biggest difference from one identical vehicle to the next is production tolerances.

Car & Driver has tested different stock Ram Crew Cabs with the Hemi/3.55 and I believe they've done everything from a 14.6 to 15.2 in the quarter - that's a few car lengths.

I've gone to many a dyno day and saw identical bikes or cars producing power with variations as high as 15%. This becomes even bigger when mods come into play. Tolerances, wear, tune, fuel, so many factors play a part...

I just got my build sheet back and I have 3.92 gears. He had a q/c. I dunno bout what gears he had though.
