cold air intake for 2011 hemi

I've just started looking at cold air intakes for my 2011, however when i checked out the K&N cold air intake, i didn't like the fact that i had to mod some parts on the truck itself mainly i would have to drill a hole for the temp sensor and i would have to trim a hose down by 4 inches, are all cold air intakes like this or are there some that are just plug and play.

I put an Injen in my 2011 sport and it is really awesome. Nice sound, easy install and fair price. I know a lot of people here will recommend AFE etc. I like to be a little different and have found that the Injen fits the bill nicely.

ok but as far as modding the truck for install how is it, i want to be able to re-install my factory air filter if i have to without any problems.

all you have to do is cut the hose down on the 2011 k+n intake, very easy install. factory box pops right out

Shouldn't be a problem. You take out the factory mounting brackets, filter housing and tube. I have kept all of mine. If I ever want to reinstall, it will be a piece of cake. With the Inject, you use the factory holes for the bolts and whatnot for installation. It is really a simple install and you can go back to factory without any real issues.

When I checked out injen it didn't list any parts for the rams were did you get yours. And I understand you have to cut the hose but is that hose a factory hose or does it come with the k&n kit.

Prior to reading the above CAI thread I was going to get the K&N, after reading it I am going with the Volant, when money permits that is

intakes

I think if you put a full intake on a 2011 ram, you waste money since the stock intake is so short, no power loss there. If the hemi could utilize the extra air(ECU) a drop in filter would dol the most good. believe it or not, like aftermarket exhaust you get only noise. same thing with intakes, more noise. JMHO

I have had a CAI in all my trucks and noticed a difference in horse power and increase in MPG. I think they are worth the money. I will be installing my new K&N 77 CAI in my new truck today when it gets delivered. Just my opinion.
