Trim restoration

I have seen a few questions about cleaning wax of of trim and bringing it back to black. I am on terminal leave and about to retire from the Navy so I have alot of free time. I figured I would put Mother's back to black to the test, not on my Ram which has pretty nice trim still but on my Wife's 2002 Town & Country which has 110,000 miles on it and has been parked outside along the street since new. so here are my results after about 30 minutes of work on the grill(whoever designed that damn thing hated my index finger)

and on the wiper panel before i finished

i use back to black and have for several yrs. it works wonders on the dull faded black trim. on a side note eagle one has a new gel out and i tried it but it sucks imo. its thick, doesnt spread good and ya need a ton of it

Looks goo! I have used Mothers Back to Black and found it works good but it is not very water resistant and will run when it rains. I have switched to Adam's Super VRT and am really impressed with anything I'v bought from Adam's. It's water resistant and looks amazing.

Never thought about the water resistant part, good info there!

Thanks for the tip 07!! Most of the trim products aren't water resistant so it never fails, you spend the whole day detailing your ride and it WILL rain the next day!! Trim looks like crapola since it leaves the water drip trails :(

Will have to check out that product!!

I've had the same experience with Back to Black. It rained and the stuff ran off the door handles and down the doors and left a hell of a mess. Lesson learned!

This was what turned me off with the Mother's product. I did the front cowl and the tailgate cover too and had the same results, product running down the paint...what a mess! Adam's is more expensive but to me it's results justify the price. I have switched to Adam's everything and will not go back to the stuff you can buy in stores...no comparison!!

Another example of "cheaper ain't better".
