2011 rear view camera not working
Any ideas on how to get the rear view camera working? I made the mistake of driving my new truck home without checking to see if it was working...and I can't afford to take time off work to drop off the truck.

When I put it in reverse the screen goes to a gray haze but no picture. I checked the settings on the 730N radio and the camera is set for "on".

I didn't really want the camera option BUT since it was $200 it would be nice if it worked.

Thanks in advance and dang soon I figure out how to post a pic of my truck! haha

The camera may have come with a protective covering that should have been removed during PDI. Check your camera for anything covering the lens.

Thanks for the tip. I did check and also compared it to my Dad's Ram and they look the same. The dealer did a spray in bed liner so I'm gonna check the wiring in the tailgate next. I think they take the access panels off when spraying and maybe a connection is loose.

Thanks again !

So how did you make out with the camera? Is it working yet?

Not working yet, thanks for asking. If it was a chevy I would probably just kick it a few times or assume it's junk...haha I will take a look Sunday when I have some time.

That`s too bad. The dealer`s too far to have them take a look at it or you just have the time?

Either way, good luck!

Well now it works and is a big help when backing in every day!! I guess when the dealer applied the spray in bed liner they took the tailgate off and didn't plug the camera back it was an easy fix once I got under the rig and looked around. haha thanks for the tips!!

Great! Glad it was an easy fix!
