question about ram air hoods

hey guys,

back in April, mother nature decided to destroy my 09 ram 1500 with baseball sized hail. lucky for me i have friends in the paint and body biz and i got a little hook up on a factory srt style hood from dodge. i would have gone with the apm hood but had to be sneaky about it.

question is, i know there's a company that makes a non-functional to functional ram air kit for the new hemi challengers, but what about the ram.
the hood seems to have the potential to become functional and work with a k&n style system. any insight on this one? and if i am over looking the manufacturer please let me know
hood in question

First let me say welcome to the forum!

Second I saw I love your hood, but as far as making it functional we would probably have to see the underside to be sure.

There are a few companies out there that make functional ram air hoods

Hood looks like it is functional by extracting heat.

Not with the ports facing forward and being so far back on the hood.

there's hood structural support cross members right at the fake vent locations
I wouldn't recommend cutting into those...for obvious reasons. The hood only weighs about 20lbs without hardware.

They really should refer to it as the Sport "Appearance" Hood , not the Sport "Performance" Hood LOL!

You want Ram Air?, Then get a Volant and port an air tube to the lower front bumper like I did...its a Freaking Beast mod!

Ram air hood

Thanks for your infos guys.

Well there are three points why i want to mount this one.

1st the optical look is great, gives the truck an agressive accent

2nd the true CAI system combined with air box

3rd its a carbon fibre hood, means less weight, gives me more weight to load and if empty a lilttle little little bit more mpg&power, really small i guess hehe

and its unique, there arent lots of rams with that modification around, and never ever in switzerland

Your right after seeing the pic again.

Sorry for the misinformation there :)
