Yeah they are great. I have a flashpaq it is the same basically and it does wonders!

What tune are you running with the cortex?

snrusnak 09-20-2011 03:18 PM

I don't know if you were only asking him but I run the 93 tune on 93 octane about 99% of the time. Also have done the 91 tune on both 91 and 93 octane, and the tow tune on 93 octane. If I have a light load or a full cab I use 93 octane on the 91 tune to prevent pinging/detonation.

Yea that can get a pricey with gas, but im sure the 93 tune really makes a big performance difference...have you seen any improvement in gas mpg?

snrusnak 09-20-2011 03:41 PM

I'll speak conservatively and say my mpg increased at a minimum of 1mpg city and 2mpg hwy. It really is probably more than that. I also have the 4.7L though and get a larger gain from the tuner than the hemi does...but you'll still see an increase. My avg mpg is always between 17-18mpg and I almost never hit the hwy. I can get 22-23mpg at 70mph on the hwy. The truck is rated at 16 city / 19 hwy stock.

The 91 and 93 performance tunes give you the lowest cost per mile, even though the fuel is more expensive per gallon. And as a bonus you get more power. Also, even if gas is 0.30 more expensive per gallon, that's only $6 a tank (assuming you fill up with about 20 gallons). One tank lasts me roughly 2 weeks. That's $156 a year. Not really that much spread out over a year. And like I said it is actually cheaper even though you pay more per gallon.

My friend had a flashpaq on his first gen hemi he loved it. Always ran the performance tune. Had it over 100,000 miles then sold the truck never a problem.

The SC Trans tuning is where it's at! I might go that route down the road.....maybe! :)

They have great customer support as well. The only bad thing is their update software sucks. Reminds me of the 28k dial up we had while trying to play diablo or starcraft when I was in middle school lol.
