What Color.....Can't Decide

Hey guys

Looking to pick up a 2011 Sport. With the truck being all one color it seems harder to decide, ive got it down to Silver, White or the Slate Grey. I'm leaning toward the white for something difference and it looks sharpe but there's not may left. the Silver is the safe color but I've always had Silver vehicles. the grey looks really good to but would be the heardest to keep clean. I guess I'm looking for some feed back from some owners that went with Grey. Does it show swirle marks bad like black does?

Hi :Hey: and a warm Carolina welcome to the best RAM ForumZ on the web. I'm not the first and won't be the last to ask ~ How about posting a few photos of your truck once you get it? And I like Red but Gray isn't bad either.

I like the gray. I had a gray 2002 Ram 1500 and I absolutely loved the color. I didn't really have much trouble keeping it clean either. I think it'd be a good choice. The silver and white would be awesome, too.

I can't say about the Grey other than it looks great. I have the white and with a couple of decals I think it looks really sharp.

the lighter the color
the worse it shows dirt

I can honestly tell you, my dark blue Silverado showed the dirt 10X worse than the white does. I think the darker it is the worse it shows the dirt. If you get a dusting of dust then a couple of sprinkles, the dirt on a dark truck stands out horribly. Not the case with the white. I think the best color that hides the dirt is the silver. The wife has had two Silver vehicles, currently a silver Jeep Liberty that she LOVES and you can't tell if it is dirty or not.

I do Love my white truck though.

I like the posts of trucks slap-covered in mud. I like getting trucks dirty.

I just bought a leftover 2011 in bright white clearcoat, but it's an SLT with chrome bumpers and grille. White, contrary to what some believe, is the easiest color to keep looking clean. The only downside is when you're waxing it, it's a little difficult to see where the wax is unless you've got it in the right light.

I've owned more cars than I literally can remember, and in just about every color there is. I can tell you, unequivocally, that I will never own another black vehicle as long as I live. Other than that, I think the only gray I've owned was an 02 Mustang GT in mineral gray metallic. It had dark gray "racing" stripes, and was a very sharp looking car. As I recall, it showed dust more than I thought it would, and spotted pretty badly after a rain. Other than that, I liked it...got lots of compliments on that car.

One thing to keep in the back of your mind is resale down the road...white is the most popular vehicle color in the U.S., and has been for quite some time.
