Lowering

thinking about lowering my new 2011 ram, any one have any advice on what parts i need or which way to go? not trying to spend 1000$ on a body drop, just trying to get something quick, advice any one??

You can cut a coil or so from the rear and it'll level out the back. A few people have done that here with great success. Ground Force makes a 2 inch rear drop kit for around 300 dollars, I've seen 2/4 drop kits for around 500 bucks. IMO I think the 2 inch rear drop looks the best. The front is low enough from the factory.

I would recommend doing the right thing and buy a complete kit, with the proper engineered shocks and springs. You will be happy you did. The truck will ride much better that just cutting or adding shorter springs. Ground Force 2"/3" drop is what I put on my Ram Crew Cab. I am very happy with it. Bell Tech also makes a very good 2"/4"complete kit but heard on this forum they are on back order till Dec. McGaughy's makes a 2"/4" drop but I don't think they come with new shocks. If you can, buy a good kit and save money by doing the work yourself. It is not very hard if you follow instuctions well. Remember to add another $90-$110 for an allignment. Good Luck.

I just seen this deal on Ebay for a new GF kit for your truck. Very good price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/09-10...-/280737073874

Bell Tech makes a good kit.

I like my 2/4 with shocks from Belltech. I have to agree on the front being low from the factory. I still get rub up front when I'm at full turn, nothing major though. I would also factor in a set of helper bags($85) if you ever plan on towing or putting anything in the bed. The 4" drop on the rear at times seems lower than the front. I'm only getting the bags because I may have to haul a load of crap here soon, maybe a trailer and a full bed of in-law possessions.

I'm actually hoping that the bags give me a small lift in back.

Sounds pretty good, I might as well go the extra buck to get something that's worth it, ive been looking for some of the parts but a lot of manufacturers show only up to 2010 models, is it any different from mine being a 2011 or could I use those parts??

i dont what you guys are talking about the truck being low enough from factory. My R/T sat higher than a 4x4 from the factory...... i already installed a 2/4 Belltech drop, and i just picked up a set of 2 inch drop spindles from Mcgaughys. should be installing soon so it will have a 4/4 drop. so far it rides pretty good i had to cut the rear bump stops though, but its fine. Remember go low, go high, or go home!

Lie2me how does your truck drive with the drop? Let us know how it handles the load when you use it. I want to lower my truck but I cant decide on what kit or how low I want to go.
