110v dash outlet

I searched first I swear! I just bought a 09 2500 diesel (big horn). I notice there is a little cubby hole/coin holder space on the passenger side of the dash, to the right of the climate controls. I'm not sure but i think this is where the 110v outlet would be, had the truck come with it. If this is the place, is it possible for me to buy the outlet and install it myself? I assume there would be a wiring harness back there to hook it up to....but being a first time dodge owner I'm not sure. Anyone have any insight? Thanks in advance.

u would have to get it and the button that turns it on and off that goes under the radio, i'm not sure if it would have to be flashed in or not.

I don't think you have the harness. The outlet came out in the 4th gens which is 2010-2012 for the 2500 and 3500. You have a 2009 2500 which is still 3rd gen

It might be less hassle to just purchase an inverter that you can mount somewhere out of sight, and run an extension cord of sorts and mount it in the hole.

It might also be a bit less expensive than going OEM, and you might be able to find one that can handle a bit more power. I think that the OEM plug is only good for about 100W-150W (someone correct me if I'm wrong here)
