Best Crew Cab Nerf Bars for a Big Guy

I'm 6'7 and around 300lbs (give or take), and while I don't need Nerf bars, I have an infant and my wife wants me to upgrade to some sort of side step up so she can get the baby in and out of the back seat easier.

I've got the 2011 1500 Crew Cab Sport in all white, and my preference is for black bars.

I want something that looks appropriate in size on the truck, but also supports my weight without bending/giving.

Any suggestions?

Any pictures of your setup are also appreciated.

If you don't want it to "bow" when you stand on it, then get the Mopar OEM Nerf bars in black. They come in black or chrome.

Note the 3 mounting brackets on each side...that's your insurance

This is how it looked after I took them out of the package (bought online, SOOOOO much cheaper)

i got the oval side steps installed.

i dunno which model those are because the car was allready mounted in the US before it was coming over seas here.

but at my point of view they look nice to the crew cab

i'm a bit over 200 pounds and theyre stable to me.

I had the Mopar oval bars on my last Ram, a 2500 CTD CC (33,000 miles of in and out), and they're on my current truck too, a Quad Cab. Even though they flex downward a small amount when I step on them, they always stayed true. I'm pushing around 285 pounds.

Same here, I have the Mopar steps and they are solid.

The key is the crimped gusset in the 3 mounting brackets, you would essentially have to 'tear' the metal for it to fail.

I have the Go Rhino bars, They bow a little when I stand on them, 6'3" 210lbs. I dont use them and have them for the kids and wife. So for your size I would not suggest them

The Mopar bars mount only to the rocker panel (I believe). I would stay away from Rocker mounted bars unless they also tie back to the frame rail as well. You don't want them to bend when you use them but you also don't want the body to sustain damage if you ever get high-centered on anything.

I have a set of Raptor 4" oval step bars. They mount to both the frame and the rockers. I'm nowhere near 300# but they seem to be pretty steady to me. They've been on (2) trucks now (2009 CC and my new 2011 CC) without any problems.

Im running a set of Nfab Side Steps, they do make them for crew cabs.
They are definitely worth the cash, & can hold you up no problem.

I'd say the NFAB bars are the way you wanna go.
