2011 r/t custom intake tube

Since no one makes an intake tube only for 2009 and newer I made my own:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0799.jpg

Parts needed:
airaid u-build-it kit 100-350 3 1/2"
http://www.airaid.com/ProductDetail....ductID=100-350
It is a big loop of plastic pipe with various angles, I used a 45 degree
at the airbox and a 90 degree at the throttle body. Cuts real clean with
power mitre saw.

Silicine hose couplers from HPS
http://www.hps-siliconehoses.com/
I used coupler HTSC-350 at the throttle body and in the center junction.
At the airbox I used flex/hump coupler HTSHC-350.
6 stainless T-clamps needed

The rubber grommet for the air temp sensor: OMAR-2761

I used a #4 unibit to drill the hole. Run the bit all the way through to make
a clean 7/8" hole. Regular drill bits will not make a good hole

Total cost around $200

Very happy with results, running k&N drop-in and fastman throttle body

How's the Butt dyno?

For another 100 you could of got a cia were you just trying to get rid of the ribs on the tube

I tried an AFE stage 2 - hated the noise it made no obvious power gain and sold it.
The K&N drop-in / smooth intake tube / fastman throttle body works for me fine.
No noise and all 3 mods together have definitely improved throttle response.
In fact intake temps are about 10 degrees cooler with this setup compared to the AFE
I tried. I have an aeroforce interceptor gauge that measures that

Actually this IS a CAI. The only difference between this and the Volant is the presumed amount of airflow through the filter... which is debatable since he's running a K&N drop-in.

Nice work Chuckie!

Let me just say it's on a competitors Ram forum site. There's alot of discussion about when it's being released for the gen4 Ram. It's available for the Gen3 Ram now. Very cool can't wait to get one on my R/T.
