Fuel Mileage!?!

Ok so I just put a 2.5" Hell Bent Steel Lvl kit and 305/55/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers on my 2011 1500 CC and have already noticed it drop a considerable amount in fuel mileage(about 3-5mpg)

What can I do to help with fuel mileage? K&N drop in? Anything else?

PLEASE let me know as I drive 40+ miles round trip everyday if not more!!!

Thanks

It's going to tough to get a marked improvement in mileage with the lift and those tires. :str:

A K&N drop in will help....but mostly at high RPM. Exhaust will also help a bit....but in reality, a lift with big tires is harder on overall mileage then most things. :(

You could also try using 89 octane fuel and resetting the computer so it hopefully adjusts to the higher grade fuel and gives you some performance benefits. :4-dontknow:

having the huge rake with the nose to the ground makes the biggest difference with your mpg. That is why the nose is so low and they add that big air dam at the bottom of the bumper. If you can keep the air from traveling under the truck, you reduce the drag significantly. When you level it, you change the air drag on the truck. Add an extra 10-20 lbs on the end of the axles and you have more resistance to spin. Kind of sucks but it is more functional and looks much better.

I know when I did a CAI and the exhaust on my Silverado I gained about 1mpg. Not bad for a $250 investment.

Gear it... about the only thing you can do to try and recover any sort of MPG with large heavy tires like that. Help the truck spin the tires a little easier

I am in the same situation right now. I switched to 89 already no significant change. K&N drop in doesn't do much either. But I would like to know how to reset my computer to try that to see if it helps...
