modding my ram

ok so i have an 04 Hemi quad cab and am beginning to start my build. i need some ideas and some help. for right now i am looking at headers, exhaust, cai, throttle body spacer, and i keep hearing alot about fastman tb but i don't even know if i can put one on my truck????? so help out guys. for my exhaust i want to gain as much as possible. I'm looking at some pacesetter header LT that couple together at 3 inches, after that i want to carry 2 1/2 pipes to true duals. Don't know if i should put an x pipe or a H pipe i don't know if it will benefit me. also will i be able to keep the stock cats????? or should i get something better???? also want a programmer all i really know of is flashpaq and bully dog..... any other ideas for a programer??????

For your truck you can get some pacesetters pretty cheap. Also, if you are not planning a custom tune then a superchip will work fine for you. If you then later decide to go with bigger mods that need a custom tune you could always get an SCT and stack it ontop of the superchips to maintain their trans tuning. If you are going to run cats I would go highflow. The stockers are 2.5" and the collector of the lt's is 3".

The only 3rd gens I've ever owned were both Cummins powered, but I think if I was going to mod a 3rd gen Hemi, I'd go with pacesetter headers, Vararam CAI, Fastmans TB, Diablo Sport Predator programmer, sonnax line booster (for trans) and Magnaflow cat back exhaust w/highflow cats. Their may be better things but that's what I'd go with...

That is a good list, I have run every item you listed except the vararam. They are all nice choices but I would advise against the diablo. The canned tune on the diablo is about the same as the superchips canned tune but the trans control offered by superchips is far superior.

I am running a pair of the magnaflow high flows that have the bungs built in. Flow great, but you will throw a code for cat efficiency with these cats installed after the LT's.

if you go with high flow cats, do the diablo predator, you can have the rear 02's switched off, OR, you can do the plug foulers to trick the rear sensors. Don't do the tb spacer unless you plan on tapping it for a nitrous nozzle. Since you planning on true duals on a qc, do an H pipe for the tq. I know they make ported tb's for your year OR you can send yours in to get ported.

you have the right ideas and JS1977 has complimented it with more detailed items. I have used the vararam (now bfi) and it is one of the best performing intakes out there. The only reason I don't run it is not because of performance, but because I like to work on my motor without the cai bein in the way. To add to your list would be the minor stuff like a 180 tstat and an efan. Other things to consider is a 2600 tq vertor, ud pulley, gears...
