Rear Axle Fluid Change and Tranny
Gonna change the rear axle fluid in my 2011 RAM Laramie Longhorn 3:55 gears NOT LSD, how many quarts of Royal Purple do I need to pick up? Also gonna change the tranny fluid out with Royal Purple, how many quarts do I need to pick up for that also?

Don't know about the rear axle, but for a pan drop trans fluid change with filters you'll need about 7-8 qts. I've found that all ATF 4+ fluid is synthetic and is the same basically, so you could just get the castrol or penzoil or whatever at your local store for half the price and save a ton of money, and get the same results. I used the castrol, runs fine. This may be of use to you:

9 1/4 rear end takes 2.25 qrts (72 oz)...add 4 oz of additive if equipped with lsd

^I read on the forum also that the rear end fluid is synthetic from factory.
