2011 Ram Sport K&N Cold Air Intake

Hello everybody! I'm new to the Forum and have to say alot of great info on this site. I traded my 2011 F150 FX4 for a new Ram 1500 Sport 4X4 and lovin it! Anyways to my question. I got my CAI in yesterday, and when putting it together the nylon barbed/thread fitting that goes into the intake (that connects the silicone hose to the crankcase vent) broke off. I was able to get it out, but all i could find locally was the 1/2" barbed 1/4" NPT. The one that came with the kit was 5/8" X 1/4" NPT. Also snipped a little to much of the silicone hose and had to go with regular heater hose. So, one does it matter that the barbed in is smaller than what came with the kit? And does it matter that i have heater hose on there instead of silicone? I'm going to call K&N this week to get the replacments, so this is just a temp fix. Opinions? Thanks.

Jason

107 people beat me to this thread??? Unfreakin'believeable.... ;)

In answer to your questions, no the smaller size NPT fitting won't matter as long as you have no air leaks around it.

As far as the hose, heater hose as a temp fix is OK. The circuit there carries hot, oily fumes so heater hose will break down pretty quickly. PCV hose is what you need for the long run.

Oh...and next time, go a little easier on the parts!!! LOL :D

^ like above said, shouldn't make a difference as long as it is getting vented. And esp. if it's just temporary

Greatly appreciated, calling K&N tomorrow and having them shipped out asap!
