Drying out wet carpet/jute

Found wet carpet on the passenger side, fixed the leak by extending the drain tube on the AC. Now I have to dry out the carpet and jute mat. Already tried vacuuming it out, but the rubber backing on the carpet doesn't allow the water to come up from the pad. Right now, I've got the carpet propped up to allow the air to circulate, and I run the heater whenever I can. Been doing this for a couple of days now, and it is still damp. Any suggestions as to how I can expedite this process?

get a can of damp rid, put it under the propped up carpet, and maybe one on top too. The stuff works great. I hear newspaper works well too.

Thanks, Sean. The Damp-Rid worked great, got the closet hangers and just shoved them up under the carpet. Now to make sure I got the leak taken care of.

Glad it worked, I've seen it used in under cabins in boats before while in storage, it always works great.
