Just Got Your Ram? Here's Some of Your Questions Answered!
Mods I wasn't sure where to put this but it seems like every other day that some1 new is asking the same questions, "what's the best this and that" "cai, exhaust, tuners, etc" THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ASKING QUESTIONS BUT WHEN SEARCH IS NOT USED AND THE BOARD GETS FLOODED WITH THE SAME QUESTIONS IT IS! Well I combined everything any new ram owner would need to know as far as mods go. After you take a look at these links, by all means, ask any questions you might have! We have a ton of info and knowledge and be more than happy to help!
A. C.A.I. (Cold Air Intake)
1. Best thread to date to aid in deciding on what to get belongs to Rootbeer.
2.K&N or Amsoil drop ins are always the way to go until u save money for a true C.A.I. or decide to make you own.
B.Exhaust. Most people on this forum go change their muffler out with (magnaflow, flowmaster, etc) and replace their factory restrictive Y Pipe with one from magnaflow (part #10778 for the 2009-2012)
Here are some exhaust clips to help u decide:

C.Catch Can. Will not give you any noticeable performance increase but will save your engine in the long run. Catch cans are designed to trap all the oil that normally is thrown back into your intake via the PCV system to be burned off.
Best Thread I can Find:
Many of our fine vendors also sell these catch cans.
D. 180 Thermostat. An easy 10 minute mod to help keep your engine cooler. It will not give you any noticeable performance increase but rather free up lost horsepower.
Here's a write up for 4th gens:
E. Predator tuner. One of the most beneficial mods for the money. There is no tuner currently available for the for the 2011 and 2012's as of right now (11/16/11) due to rolling encrypted codes.
The two most popular tuners are from superchips and diablosport.
Any of our fine vendors sell them.
Occasionally they are for sale in the classifieds section
F. Tonneau Covers Good way to keep stuff dry, locked, stored, etc. The best thread and info I can find with actual reviews and good info is this one.
G. Cheap Mods Mods that either cost very little money or don't cost any money at all.
Thread of mods under or around $100:
H. Warranty Questions Best information on the subject of warranty and certain mods is located here:
I. As for the rest of the "other mods" the search feature is located here:
J. H.I.D.'s Hard to say where the is the best place to get your kits from. Everyone has issues with each company at some point, here is some links to good info.

Hopefully if I left anything out or didn't input enough input one of the awesome members of the forum that we have will promptly correct me and we can not flood the boards with the same old questions.
Again this is nothing against anyone I'm just trying to help make it so everyone's questions get answered and nothing is overlooked.
Great input on engine mods. Now you need to get busy on all the exterior and interior accessories, Tonneau, bumpers, radios, amps, etc. :)
