The same thing happened to me, on my passenger side front quarter panel, when I had about 30,000 miles on the truck. My dealership took some pictures, and sent them off to Chrysler, same as you. About a week later, they called, and said that they would cover the cost of repair. The body shop was going to sand down that part of the panel to bare metal, then paint and blend it in, but when they sanded through the paint, the panel had rusted through. It was only a 1/4" hole, but because Chrysler was footing the bill, they put on a whole new panel. The paint match was great, you wouldn't know it wasn't the original paint, which was impressive, given my truck is Brilliant Black Pearl. The body shop said it was likely caused by a drop of moisture stuck under the paint.

mine is the same panel but on driver side, i currently have 50 000km so thats 31250miles,.. about the same as yours

i hope i will receive good news this week,.. also i guess i prefer if they would change the panel, just in case that same rust or moisture stays on the original,...

my truck is also a brilliant black pearl, i hope it will come out as nice as yours did,.

thanks for the info

the imfamous dodge quarter panels... I have about 10-15 bubbles on both rear quarters... no real way to fix it for good. When you grind it down even if there is no rust there will be a pin hole where water is getting through. You would think they would realize you cant have 2 pieces of metal close together with just silicone to seperate them, and that silicone is supposed to stop water and sand and road shit from getting down in there...
